Although COVID-19 closures, restrictions, and recommendations for social distancing have begun to ease, PCAC and other arts organizations and artists remain very cautious. The uncertainty of schools reopening in the fall and what numbers will be allowed for group gatherings has everyone apprehensive about scheduling. This uncertainty is making the artists and presenters uncomfortable trying to put on performances until 2021. We are currently working on rescheduling most of our fall activities and will update our site as these changes impact our events. The upcoming 2020-21 Season is posted as currently planned on the tab above. Check it occasionally for changes and updates.
Our granting organizations proceeded with their spring grant applications and extended deadlines in accordance with the COVID-19 outbreak. State budget reductions are expected and likely to impact us as well as all arts organizations. Although the picture ahead is uncertain we are hearing lots of creative alternatives from the artists we present.
Unfortunately, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks has had to cancel this summer’s tour but is creating a virtual road trip called “Reverse Tour: Postcards from the Road” which will be available beginning Monday, June 29th. Here’s information from them:
This summer, we’ve asked tour coordinators, community members, and actor alums to send in video “postcards” extolling the virtues of their communities while sharing a little Shakespeare along the way. Beginning Monday, June 29th, you can find a new postcard – almost every day! – on our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube channels.
