Park County Arts Council sponsors annual residencies by Shakespeare in the Schools for all three of our county school districts. Shakespeare in the Schools is a high school age-appropriate educational program providing an eight-member professional company that performs a 75-minute production of a complete Shakespearean play complete with ornate costumes and scenery along with a Q&A session between the actors and students and a full complement of workshops following the performance.
We are proud to provide this educational component in our season. It provides a very important element that brings a live performance of Shakespeare for our high school students. Teaching Shakespeare is most effective with the poetry of his language presented live. The company provides teaching guides in advance of the performance to assist English teachers.
We pay for these residencies in part through grants from the Wyoming Arts Council whose funding comes from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming State Legislature. The other portion comes from people just like you, who make donations to the Park County Arts Council. Thank you so very much for supporting important educational programs mile Shakespeare in the Schools.
Some photos from last nights performance of “The Comedy of Error” in Powell. A delightful show!!!
